Sinossi:
Roger Thornhill, agente di pubblicità, arrestato per aver guidato in stato di
ubriachezza, racconta alla polizia una storia incredibile. Mentre si trovava in
un albergo di New York, era stato rapito da due uomini, portato nella villa di
un certo Townsend, interrogato, costretto a bere del wisky e spinto in una
automobile da corsa: si voleva evidentemente farlo morire in stato di
ubriachezza. Thornhill ricorda che i suoi rapitori si rivolgevano a lui
chiamandolo George Kaplan. La polizia fa indagini, ma non giunge ad alcun
risultato; intanto Thornhill viene a sapere che un Townsend si trova nel palazzo
dell'Onu. Il Townsend che trova lì non è però quello che ha incontrato nella
villa...
Vuol dire che tutto va troppo in fretta e non si ha il tempo di capire? (A.H.)
